June’s Been A Good Month
Hi Everyone,
I’m still exploring the San Blas Islands and Panama.
I had my first charter this month, it was really successful and my guest had as much fun as I did. We explored reefs and the Island of Chichime, along with the eastern Hollindays keys in the San Blas. I have another charter scheduled for 8 days the last week of July. I will only be in this area for a few more months and if you’re interested in seeing the San Blas Islands, and meeting the Kuna Indians send me an email. I can also give you Bruce’s (My last Charter’s) email address if you’d like to hear about his experience on Namaste first hand.
The rainy season is in full swing, and is my favorite time here. The rain cools off the sunny days, and provides lots of fresh water. The wind is calm, and as a result the snorkeling & spear fishing fantastic. Watching the lightning storms on the mainland provide hours of entertainment and is a truly beautiful site.
I have many Kuna friends and it’s nice to pull into an anchorage and have the Kuna know me by name. The Coconut telegraph is in full swing and the children communicate between the Islands. They know when they see “Namaste” on the side of my boat that I carry a good store of candy which makes me quite popular. The kids run down the beach screaming “ALEX” giggling & laughing as I drop my anchor.
I’m gearing up to transit the Panama Canal sometime in the fall. If anyone wants to join me for the canal I need four line-handlers. It should be quite the experience.
I’ve posted some new pictures and video clips on the website. There’s also a DVD preview now that you can watch by clicking the Preview icon at www.projectbluesphere.com or you can launch the Preview directly at http://www.projectbluesphere.com/index.asp?mid=25. Please note that pop-up blockers may stop the preview from displaying using the last link. If it does, use the first link and click the Preview icon yourself.
You can also Purchase the Project BlueSphere DVD by clicking here or on the DVD cover to the right.
I’m also planning on releasing my first book soon, kind of a guide to unplugging and going cruising. I’ve learned so much over the years and want to share my knowledge. If anyone has any cruising secrets, recipes, or general info they’d like to share please feel free to send an email.
I also want to mention that my online logs and Instant Messages wouldn’t be possible without the help of Sat Com Systems. If you’re looking to make the jump to satellite communications please take the time to check out www.satcomsystemsinc.com.
I hope everyone is well and enjoying life to the fullest.
Peace, Love, & Coconuts.
– Alex
