Leaving the Americas

Hi Everyone,

The time has come for me to bid farewell to my home continent (The Americas) and start a new chapter in the Project BlueSphere story. I’m setting sail on a four thousand mile voyage to French Polynesia. I’m expecting to be at sea for a month and a half or so.

I’ve really become quite fond of living the Latin lifestyle. In many ways I feel as if I’m leaving home all over again. My time in the Caribbean has been very special. I’ve made many friends that I’m leaving behind, and a few are crossing to New Zealand with me this season.

Transiting the Panama Canal was quite the experience in my little 28′ boat, but we made it unscathed. I’ve been working full time on Namaste, Provisioning, and planning my trip across the Pacific. My plan is to sail south to cross the ITCZ (Doldrums) at its narrowest point and make a western turn just south of the Galapagos Islands. At this point I should pick up the eastern trade winds and sail them all the way across the Pacific. I’m planning on my first landfall in the Marquesas (Nuku Hiva), then the Tuamotus, Tahiti, the Cook Islands, Tonga, then New Zealand in December.

I know a few people have been interested in chartering Namaste in the South Pacific, and my suggestion for anyone up for the adventure is o fly to Tahiti, then to the Marquesas and meet me for a week or two. I believe there is only one flight a week to the Marquesas, but if you’re looking to see something unspoiled, this would be the way to do it.

Well that’s about it. If your new to the Project BlueSphere experience and haven’t seen the DVD yet you can watch the preview by clicking the Preview icon on the home page, or you can purchase it by clicking here, or by visiting us at www.projectbluesphere.com.

If you enjoy the on-line Project BlueSphere experience, please show your support by purchasing a DVD.

Sail far, and live slowly.

Peace, Love, and Coconuts.
