Ken & Adrian Johnson

I bought “Namaste” from Ken Johnson of Johnson Marine services (www.johnsonmarineservices.com). Ken and his son Adrian are yacht surveyors in the Mystic, CT area. Ken is also a licensed captain with many cruising miles in his wake. Ken and I rebuilt Namaste’s rudder and bowsprit at his home in Noank CT. Ken has been an endless source of help, information, and motivation. I hope I will be able to return the favor some day, you have been a real friend,  Thanks K.J.

Wow!!!, I really could not have asked to outfit Namaste in a better Place. I have to thank The Brewer Yacht Yard at Mystic (http://www.byy.com/mystic/index.cfm) for more help then I could possibly ask for. I have been a boat owner for over 10 years, and I must say I have never had service like this before, way above par, Thanks guys.

Scott & I became friends during my refit experience in Mystic. He just sold his old boat & truck to buy a Irwin 30′ Citation. That’s what I’m talking about, priorities, get rid of the house, the truck, and all the other un-necessary stuff. Get a boat and GO! That’s Boston in the background.

Got any questions about sailing in our area? email us at maui@socket.net

Rich is a fellow editor in Honolulu, and one of our first subscribers. Thanks for all the input. Supposedly Rich is famous for his steaks, cant wait to try one.

Okay Viki, if this is a picture of the Hook family, would the scurvy dog in the middle be Captain Hook?

This is Garry Jones’s “Morning Star” on Lake Ontario. It’s always nice to see a boat that shows “Pride of ownership”, this is a good example.“Morning Star” is a 1977 Irwin classic sloop. Nice boat Garry.

Ken and I rebuilt “Namaste’s” bowsprit, after it was damaged during hurricane Isabel. If your looking for boat woodwork in the South Carolina area, Ken’s the guy. Namaste’s bowsprit came out fantastic, and I also got a chance to see an aft cockpit, teak & holly soul, that Ken vacuum bagged, all I can  say is, “it was art”, thanks for the help Ken. You can contact Ken @ boatbyrd@bellsouth.net.

This is my buddy Jamie on his little blue boat “Possibilities”. I met Jamie here in Panama. He’s sailed Possibilities here from Australia via Africa, and may be transiting the canal around the same time as “Namaste”. We might be heading down to Ecuador & Peru, and will probably be sailing across the Pacific roughly at the same time. Jamie is up for some low-cost chartering and you can email him at: jamiemitchellpossibilities@yahoo.com.au
