I really don’t know how to explain how wonderful our days are. We are making so many new friends. Guin is going to the beach with Taylor, Jackson, Owen, Avery, Kayley, Alina, and Madison today. George town has really turned out to be “kidtastic”. In this picture Guin and Owen are swimming on the ocean side of stocking island.
Today is a big learning day for guin. She is starting her “reading in 100 easy lessons” book. She should be reading in 3 months at a second grade level. There is a funny thing about home schooling. All the home
schooled kids we have met are at least 1 or two grade levels ahead of their age. I think it is due to the one on one learning experience.
Our friends Terry, Shelly, Jackson, and Taylor showed up yesterday. We met them in Jacksonville a while back and Taylor (7) and Guin get along famously. we have also been spending a lot of time with our friends Britta & David who are joining us on our journey to the San Blas, and Rian & Diane from “Thursday’s child”. There son Owen is the one in the hammock with Guin.
I’m out of the water for a week or so. A few days ago I developed a ear infection, OUTCH! I started a 10 day stint of Amoxicillin. I’m prone to ear infections because of my “divers ear”. I spent far too many years in California diving in the cold water with no hood.
I’ll be getting the boat together this week for a departure next week. The cold fronts seem to be gone for the season and clear skies should be ahead of us. We are all starting to dream of our time in Jamaica. I couldn’t afford a trip to the blue mountains last time I was in Jamaica, but if we can this time I am going to try to get a car for a day so we can trek up there and buy some coffee.
Don’t forget to watch the new video I posted. And if your interested in a charter buy some “Charter donation” tickets by clicking here.
Sail far and live slowly.

That is all just tooooo cooool !!!!! My life starts in 100 days !! And that is no April fools joke.
Enjoy, Dean
Bought a Charter Donation monday – you never know Diane and I just might get lucky. After all I have been on one of your charters before and it was FANTASTIC!
Kirk,
Good to hear from you, send me an email. You don’t need to buy a charter donation, just ask. I owe you one anyway :).
Make a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and white vinegar, put it in a small bottle with a dropper. Put 4 drops in each ear after swimming, allowing it to sit in each ear for ~30 seconds. This will disperse the water in you ear, help loosen up ear wax, and go a long way towards preventing infections.
WOW, I’m not really a jealous person but I have to admit that I am so jealous of you right now that I can’t see straight. Can’t wait to see you in the San Blas. Just got back from roatan honduras. You should put that on your list. Beautiful place and a great reef. Anyway, thanks for leading the way and such a super website.
All I can say is ENJOY EVERY PRECIOUS MOMENT! Great photos. Great feeling in your words. Sail on Amigo. Sail on. What’s the worse case scenario, you get stuck there… LOL.
