Family fun

IMG_2611

Well its been big family fun around here lately. Carla’s brother, wife, and 3 month old daughter came for a few weeks and her mom is here for a few more days.

Carla is really close to her family and I’m gaining so much from this relationship, really AWSOME people.

I’m so excited to go to Argentina in 6 weeks!!!!P1070347

We will also say goodbye to the Bambu house soon. Its been a great experience and a lot of fun. However Carla and I both have been reassured that we don’t want a house, business, or any big responsibilities.

No wonder people scream about the expense of owning a sailboat and house, its so much work. I’ll choose just the boat Smile  Splendid is a lot less maintenance than the bambu house (house, car, staff) and we are happy to return to our simple lives soon.

The Dyer midget restoration project is coming along well and I’m looking forward to IMG_2604rowing again. I’m spraying on primer in the picture here. Such a great boat.

Kiara, Carla’s niece, is Splendid’s youngest crew member at 3 months, such a cuitie.

I’m worried about what to do with Splendid for the month that I’ll be in Argentina. There are not many affordable haul-out alternatives in the area.

I’m either going to leave her at anchor with aIMG_2586 friend watching her, or bring her to Panamarina for the time I’m away.

Sorry I haven’t had much time for blogs but I’ve been busier than I have been in many, many, many years.

Sail far and live slowly

Peace.

  1. What about Panamarina or CTG? 6packers would pay for haul out or a slip for a month.
