Well this is it. We checked out of the Bahamas today. We are off for Jamaica in the morning and the Caribbean sea :)
All I can say is we have had a blast. We’ve maid friends, swam, sailed, loved, and laughed. What more could you ask for?
We went into Matthew town this morning for provisions. The harbor was full of ship
wrecks and Haitian fishing boats. These guys are amazing, true sailors. No motors, every square inch of the boat packed with drying fish or a fisherman. The sails are maid from old sheets and banners. I saw a plastic sail that had part of the Pepsi logo on it, and another one that said Ford. There were also some ship wrecks that made for nice photo opportunities.
I was here checking out and leaving for Port Antinio Jamaica back in 2004. So much has changed. I have much bigger boat, my 2 glorious girls, and a lot more experience.
Life is damn good! I remember so many people giving me hell when I was in Tahiti for selling Namaste. So many people said I was “throwing in the towel” and giving up a great gift. All I can say is I made the right decision. My life took a big turn, but one for the better. I have it all, and I’m king of the world. Well at least my little 40’ world :)
I’ll pop off a spot or two during the days so you can follow our progress. I’m planning to be in Jamaica on Friday but the wind is forcast to be light, we’ll see. I’ll
get airtime for my sat phone soon so I can post logs from sea again.
Take care everyone.
Peace, love and the Bahamas.
Sail far and Live slowly!

One of my favorite words. Liminality. Roughly defined it means “Threshold Moment”. Tahiti was your threshold moment Alex and you wisely saw it for what it was.

We still have a few raffle tickets left! We are going to have the drawing next week when we get to Jamaica so this is your last chance to buy tickets if you want them. If you do visit the store and buy charter donations, they ar $50.00 each. Good luck.
