I know so many of my subscribers have been asking questions about cruising with their families. I’m relatively new to the whole “cruising with a family” thing but I know I’m a lot more cautious then if I was just sailing by myself. You know my #1 rule ‘never be in a Hurricane or cyclone area during season’. I really hate the fact we got caught in Florida in August but it is what it is. If I were alone I’d scoot ASAP with the approaching tropical weather brewing in the Caribbean, and especially the system that is off of the African coast. Check out the 10 day forecast here and put it on “loop”

Unisys shows it approaching northern Florida and even possibly North of here. I’m thinking it may be best to sit tight for a few days. Early in the season hurricanes usually go for the gulf and I think this season is a bit misleading because we have had no activity to speak of. It’s not early in the season anymore it is the “hi” of the season (August/September).

Sam, Guin, and I had a lovely sushi dinner on S/V Aloft (38 Hans Christian) with out new friends Craig, Lisa, and their 14 month old son Christian last night. We still haven’t got Guin to eat raw fish yet but I’m hoping the day will come soon. She still likes it breaded with lots of ketchup (fish styx).

Hope everyone is well.
