I had to get out of my warm bed at 6am and drive over to the Western shore with my cousin. I hated leaving Sam as she’s been really sick and just starting to get over it.
I met with the owner (great guy) around 9am and we went over the boat, got fuel, and provisions. I had a few options for crew but nothing panned out. I need to get the boat up to Jersey City on Monday or Tuesday. If Sam’s feeling better she may join me in Atlantic city or Cape May for the remainder of the trip.
All is good. I left Rock Hall Maryland around noon and motored north for about 6 hours. This is a picture of the sun setting behind the boat next to me.
After the Delivery I’m going to see Sam and hopefully meet her Dad in Philly mid next week. Then I’m returning back to Jacksonville for a few weeks. I’m going to get some projects done and I have a doctors appointment on the 28th to check out my knee. I had knee and back surgery years ago and my knee can really act up sometimes. My back does as well but if I do yoga and sit-ups for a few weeks all the pain goes away. I cant seem to make my knee work better though.
Anyway. I just wanted to check in and share my sunset with you guys.
Peace!
Sail far and live slowly.

Yep. Thanks for the Yoga tips while you were in the Pacific… It did and does change my life when I use it. I love the DVD you recommended, “Yoga For Dummy’s.” As for the knee, hmmmmmm… Be gentle. Go slow and watch your step. And, like you, I think I’ll do some yoga… tomorrow.
Take care Amigo. Always thinking of you and the family. Enjoy every precious moment. Also, I have some garlic stuff for you. I’ll give you a call. I believe we have choices, Garlic or Flu Shots… Kind of a no brainer.

Interesting to hear you had back surgery in the past, I had back surgery myself 18 months ago, cant seem to get off the percocet, even with a round of epidurals.Have been really uncertain as to how my body would take the physical requirements of a sailboat, having never owned a boat capable of living aboard, we broke down and bought a 36′ Carver aka “Fossil Fool” to see how life aboard any boat would fare, Im already disappointed I didnt buy a sailboat, was an impulsive decision.
I digress, Yoga for Dummies………sounds like the lesson for me,thanks for the tip.

I’m jealous Alex !! Been hanging around the site for several years now and living the dream vicarioausly through you. Working like crazy to get my boat and meet ya for a brewski and one of those sunsets.
Be safe man,

The delivery is going well. I had to run into Atlantic city to try and get an Asthma inhaler as mine ran out. I cant believe I was unable to get one, granted it was Sunday. I pleaded with the pharmacies but they wouldn’t budge. I cant believe I’m still leaving without one. All in all it cost me $100 to stay at a marina that is a $30 (one way) cab ride to/from anywhere. I haven’t even managed to get food or ice, what a waste. Oh well, ship happens right? I did manage a good warm nights sleep and got fuel.
I’m sailing for Manasquan in a few minutes here. I’ll drop the hook around sunset, and leave for the final leg of the delivery around 1am. That should put me at sandy hook at lo-tide at around 7am, and I can ride the last 25 miles with the morning tide. I’m hoping to see Sam 2morrow night and head back to Splendid on Thursday or Friday. I’m going to order our new Engel when I get back, I’m excited!
The Spot is cool isn’t it?
Cheers.
Your doctor’s appointment is on the 29th. See email.
