Check it out. 1000 square feet of glorious spinnaker, Thanks Tom!
I’m really excited about this. I really wanted to go with a drifter but this beautiful spinnaker found its way into my life. The material and stitching is all good. It has some water stains which look like white clouds on the light blue/purple back drop. Guin is going to freak when she sees this much purple. All I need to do now is get some hardware, line, and figure out how to fly it. I’m going to try and get a sock. It really is a HUGE sail! I’m sure we’ll make friends.
I’m leaving on Tuesday to do a delivery from Rock Hall MD to Jersey city. It’s looking like it will take me 6-7 days, 4 of which will be sailing. Sam and Guin went to visit family in Jersey so it works out well, I can visit them before returning. I have some work here when I get back, and then I’m doing another delivery between Virginia and the keys the second week of October. All is coming together nicely.
I must admit I’ve been pretty stressed lately. Money has been super tight. My DVD sales have really dried up, all I can think it’s the economy and the lack of peoples disposable income or perhaps I’ve saturated the market. My film sales have allways been good for 3-4 hundred a month. I was really stressing getting a light air sail, a refrigerator (Engel), and putting away a few bucks for the kitty. It all seems to be falling into place though through work, friends support, and good karma. I also want to get an extra 5 gallons of epoxy and a few extra gallons of white paint for Splendid. I’m also looking for a few vangs (fiddle blocks) that I can use for preventors for the main and mizzen and need to buy an EPIRB. We have the spot, but I’d like an EPIRB as well.
I’m working on building a mount for my radar dome with the help of some friends here at the marina. I cant believe people pay $250.00 for mast mounts, they really are such a simple things to build. Basically its 3 pieces of aluminum and 2 welds, not rocket science.
Once I’m out of the country I’ll be looking for charter gigs, I’d like to focus on the San Blas first.
Does anyone know about hornet wind generators?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers everyone.

I looked at the Hornet web site. Pretty cool. Please do keep us informed about the feedback you receive on these puppies. I didn’t see where there was any way to lock the blades though. I think you’d want to be able to do that. They do mention lowering the unit in bad weather, but that seems a real pain on a boat. It will be interesting to hear what folks say about these machines.

Thomas
