Now this is getting strange…, bare with me.
I had a dream that Namaste was at a floating dock and sinking. I could see both of her bilge pumps were working overtime and she was listing to port. The water between us was really polluted and someone stopped me as I was about to jump in and to swim to her. “You won’t make it, you’ll be dead before you get there” the person assured me. I woke up really upset and emailed Wojtec. Analyze that!
He sent me pictures and assured me she was fine.
It really got me thinking about things, especially freedom. Do you know most of us have no idea what it is? From the time we are born we are trained to do things on a schedule. Basic things like eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sleeping at certain times. We are also taught “responsibility”, and the importance of paying our bills on time, having a good job, and sending our children to “proper” schools. Admirable I guess? I just don’t want to do it till I’m 65. My mother died at 42 (my age); perhaps that’s why I took off to begin with. I didn’t want to loose my window. Death hit close to home when I was young and I think it gave me a “realistic” perspective on life.
I say “eat when you’re hungry, sleep when you’re tired, and take the time to educate your own children”. But how do we get out of “The System”?
I used to get so stressed out when I couldn’t sleep at night because I knew I’d be tired at work the next day, which actually made me sleep less. It’s just not a natural way to live. The only people I’ve known that are really free are the Kuna Indians. I’m sure the American Indians were the same way before…, well…, you know!!!
I need to be on the sea again! I’m thinking of cutting my trip here short and getting a boat ASAP, even a smaller one (34+). I now know that I need to be off the boat to produce a DVD. I could produce one every 12-14 months or so. I just need to lock myself in a room for 2 months to edit, it’s impossible on the boat, I’d rather spear fish if you know what I mean.
Johnny Depp said it best. I don’t remember the exact verbiage but it’s something like “A sailboat isn’t decks, a hull, canvas & rope, a sailboat is freedom”, it’s true, at least for me!
I watched a few Star Wars movies last night and really realized how brilliant George Lucas was in creating the series and the Jeti philosophy. The Jeti philosophy is about freedom. Not owning material things and bettering ones self through a pursuing knowledge of “The Force”. I know it sound silly but I’m okay with you laughing at me. We need to do more of this and find the time to help our fellow man. I believe we can build a better system through action. That’s what my “Operation TRAKs” is all about; I’m hoping someone else will follow.
I don’t want any more star bucks or plastic packaged food. I want to go home, and home is on the sea!
I want time to think again.
