Well I’m off to Tokyo in the morning, I’m really excited.
My time in Australia has been to short and busy, I’ve been running around with my head cut off!
I asked Wojtect to write a log about his experience over the past month, here it is:
Alex asked me to write a log, now that I own her.
He has visited the boat yesterday for the last time before leaving for Tokyo. He’s shown me a last minute trick to keep the water maker sound. I know he wanted to show me more. In fact I know he wanted to keep doing things around the boat but at the same time he needed to move on and I needed to assume my responsibilities for Namaste.
I’m glad I went to New Caledonia to meet Alex there. Our original deal was for him to deliver Namaste to Brisbane but I thought it would be important for me to go sailing with Alex so that I can learn Namaste’s systems first hand. That part has worked very well. I poked in the engine room when Alex was installing new starter motor, asked hundreds of questions when he was pushing various switches, watched him carefully doing things.
But probably as important, if not more important outcome of the events of the last month was that I’ve acquired a friend, a good friend, a friend for life. Alex and I have spent long hours chatting about and our thinking seemed to go along the same lines. I’m sure our paths will cross again, one way or another…
Namaste and I are going through the process of importation to Australia. This involves getting the boat inspected by Quarantine officers and get her fumigated, to get rid of any bugs like termites that could be present. Then some taxes will need to be paid and she will be free to go. I plan to put Namaste on a truck and ship her to Adelaide where I live, a 2000 km trip. I hate having to do this as it involves taking the mast down as well as other bits like radar and wind generator but I have to do this because sailing trip to Adelaide would take 4-6 weeks and I have to be back at work before Christmas …or do I? Another option would be to leave Namaste here in Brisbane and let her wait for me but I’m not sure if this is such a good idea. She is a bit tired after crossing the Pacific and would respond well to some TLC. I am anxious to start doing this as it would allow me to get to know her better. Namaste will become truly mine only after I’ve touched every touchable place on her. This is a lot of touching to be done!
Peace, Love …and my Namaste.

It’s hard to hear the “My Namaste” part of the last line but it’s time for me to move on. I have two big projects planned, one is Project BlueSphere’s “Operation TRAKS” (Totally Random Acts of Kindness), and the other is getting into the solar and wind game. I really want to get as many people as possible unplugged, and generating clean power to live by.
“Operation TRAKS” will be the focus of Project BlueSphere and I hope to inspire people to not only go sailing, but to go out of their way to help people along their path, kind of like “Pay it forward”. I hope to get a BGAN system for my next boat so I can revert BlueSphere back to an online TV show. The hardest part about running Project BlueSphere has been the availability of bandwidth as I travel.
Once I get to Tokyo I’m going to get some work done on the DVD and upload some recent pictures.
Peace, Love, and I NEED A NEW BOAT!!!!
