Wojtec and I left Noumea yesterday around 10am. It was quite windy but I pulled up to a small island to give the bottom a quick scrub. Wojtec cut open his finger and put his first drops of blood in Namaste’s decks as he was trying to grab mooring with the gaff hook. I spent a half hour in the water and we quickly departed the pass.
Namaste was making good time (5+) for most of the day but the wind gradually started fading as night approached.we came across a large fishing boat at about 3am. I started the motor in order to maneuver and it has been running ever since. I’m trying to maintain 4 knots as the wind has died to under 8.
You know it’s hard for me to write my first days at sea so I’ll be brief.
Cheers everyone.
