I’m not a handsome man, however I like to think of myself as relativity smart and educated. What I am more then anything (besides a bad speller) is determined. It’s called OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), personally I think it’s an attribute, and as a result I’ve always been an over achiever at the things I wanted to do and an under achiever at everything I didn’t want to do.

My father used to say I have a talent for finding the deepest, darkest hole of $hit in the world and falling in it. “The remarkable thing about my son however, is when he climbs out he smells like roses, and is better off because of it”.

I spent my 3rd day in the engine room today being bashed between the motor and bulkhead, I’ll have a pretty plethora of bruises in shades from blue to burn!

As I lay awake in bed last night I thought I ought to be able to manually engage the gear to the flywheel. I also got an email from my uncle making a suggestion to open the solenoid. When I did I found a pin I could pull with a vice grip that would push out the gear to engage the flywheel. Guess what, it worked, but the motor didn’t start. The flywheel was turning too slowly. I think I’m short on cranking amps. I also burned up the motor and arc’d a hole in the starter, IT’S DONE! 4 GOOD!!

I really wanted to show up at Noumea against all odds under power, oh well!

I’ve got 233 miles to the pass where I should have a friend waiting with a toe line.

Cheers everyone.
