Land and Sea

Damage report.

I haven’t had a drink for a while as I’ve been in my work mode but that all changed last night. I put away a nice cache or rum and I’m pretty hung over.

When I woke up and put all my thoughts together through my rum drinking haze, I remembered…, I hit a reef.

I was pretty apprehensive about getting in the water, I was worried that I did some damage to the rudder or I’d find a major crack in the hull or something. I got on my snorkel gear on and did a damage assessment, it’s pretty bad!

It took me a while to identify exactly where the reef hit, then I saw it, on the bottom of the keel. There are four strips each about an inch long where I’ve lost some bottom paint, that’s it! There’s no fiberglass damage at all, not even a gouge, how can that be? I feel rally stupid making such a big deal about it but it really gave Namaste quite the jolt!

WAHHHHHOOOOOO!!!!!!

This is why I bought a west sail, my girl is tough!

The water is really nice and clear here. I haven’t been in such nice water since the San Blas in the carribean. I’m going to check out the village and decide weather or not I can work here for a week. It would be nice to get some snorkeling done during work breaks.

I LOVE MY BOAT!

Peace, Love, and Westsails baby!!!!
