I need to make small goals to keep sane. For the past 5 days I have been looking at my distance to go and wishing it were under 2000 miles, I’m at 2008 miles now and will break the 2000 mile barrier in about 80 minutes.

I managed to get a decent nights sleep. I had the best dream; I played with my old dog Ranger all night, that’s it, just played with my dog. When I got up Namaste was screaming along at 7.2 knots however the seas have calmed a bit which is nice. It seems that I get a better motion to the boat if I’m a tad over powered.

Anyway, it’s hart to write. I got the advice from a professional weather router yesterday, his text will follow.

Cheers everyone.

It appears he is in an area of high pressure gradient squeeze between a high to the south and low pressure near the equator.

High pressure centered near 40S 090W is about 1030mb. Ridging from this high extends over his track from vessel’s current position near 06S 103W to Marquesas. Measured winds over his track as of 1400Z today were SE near 25-30kts seas . High weakens next 24hrs to 1024mb. This tends to abate wind/sea conditions over his track but gradient remains healthy at 22-27kts, seas 8-10ft. Moving west, expect wind direction to tend to back to easterly. On Sunday, expect high to continue to weaken to 1020mb. Winds abate to 10-20kts. On Monday, winds will have a continued tendency to back to easterly as you get more towards the west of high center still near 40S 090W.

Suggested Route: Maintain current course and speed for best and safe ride. Winds from high center are too widespread to go looking for lesser conditions.
