I have tunes!
I tracked one of the power wires and found it corroded through behind my instrument panel. After a quick fix I listened to tunes all day.
I found a scrap of wind (5-6k) and have been sailing for the past six hours at just over 4 knots (with currant). The wind pooped a bit and I started the motor. I still have my drifter up and poled out. I’m creating enough apparent wind to keep it inflated and I’m jamming on at 6.7 knots and only running the motor at 1500, not bad.
I have a friend coming to visit me for a week in the Marquesas. Her flight gets in on the 28th of April. I did the math today. I have 2847 miles to go which means I need to average 3.5 knots and just about 80 miles a day. Once I’m in the trades I should be averaging 100 – 120 miles a day. I should be there a week early.
I made a big pot of stew today, enough for lunch and dinner, and possibly lunch again tomorrow. I’m getting tiered of stew already.
The French lessons are still spinning me out but I’m sure I’ll have basic working French online before I get to land.
Give the pictures a few days. Unfortunately when I upload them they have to be labeled a certain way and put in a data base. My buddy does it in his spare time so hold on they are coming. I wish I could have uploaded them all but you know bandwidth. If I was on a regular machine I could have done them all in a few minutes. But I battled with a crappy connection for 3.5 hours, and only got half of them up.
Cheers everyone.
Alex
