Land and Sea

Another boat!

Lat 2.257222
Lon -83.431667

It’s only 183 miles to the equator!

Another sailboat appeared on the horizon. I contacted them via VHF. It’s the sailing yacht “Saraban” they are from South Africa. I’ve spoke with them a few times concerning weather. They are bound for the Galapagos. They seem like nice people.

I’m getting along really well now; I think it’s been 6 days. My legs seem to know the movement of the sea without any thought on my part. I started cleaning up the boat a bit, it’s a mess. I’m reorganizing my provisions.

I measured my fuel today and it turns out I’ve only used 7 gallons since Panama, not bad. I’m only running the motor at 1400 rpm’s to conserve fuel, its working.

The wind totally pooped on me this afternoon and I’ve been motoring for the past few hours.

It is a bit rainy, not bad, and I’m trying to stay focused on my book “American Fuji”.

I’m pretty tired and I’m hoping I can get at least 4 hours tonight.

Peace, Love, and Sleep!

Alex
