Land and Sea

Time to rest!

The last 15 hrs have really been wet & uncomfortable. However I’m back to no wind and moving slowly.

I’m in the ITCZ and you can really tell. It the last week I’ve experienced so many sailing conditions. Heavy sea & big wind, calms, rain, thunder & lightning.

During the day I thought I saw a human body at sea and changed course to investigate.  At closer inspection it seemed to be a bloated seal.

I have a friend. A tired bird (I think it’s a frigate) has been on the bow since the squalls started early today. It looks like the weather knocked the crap out of him as well. He’s so tired he let me pet him. I bet he’ll spend the night.

I have a can of stew on the stove, and a pot of hot tea. It’s funny; I’m in such a warm place and yet I spent most of the day cold & wet. I was warming up by pouring buckets of sea water on me, the rain was much colder.

I just wanted to check in. I’m so tired I really don’t know what to write about.

Cheers everyone.

Alex
