Here is a picture of the windlass installed. The netting isn’t done and the boat is dirty as hell but you get the idea. It’s really a sweet windlass, easy to use, and I seriously doubt it will ever fail. It’s not as shiny as it was when I got it. It will soon go green and match the rest of the bronze on the boat.
I’ve been having problems sleeping. My trip across the Pacific is constantly going through my mind and I’m always thinking about my list. I’m starting to wonder if I’m totally OCD.
I haven’t had time to work on the DVD but it is as finished as it is going to be for now. It is running just under 40 minutes and I need my ending. The ending will be my crossing of the Pacific to the Marquesas. I’ve secured a charter in the Marquesas and I’m bailing on the
Mentally I’m totally prepared, and raring to go. My sat phone is up and running and I can finally get instant messages again. It’s been kind of lonely without all of you sending me a news clip or saying hi. I still can’t receive or transmit email yet I had to change my SIM card and I need to figure a few things out.
I went to Carnival last night and had a blast, along with a few too many drinks but it was fun.
I know as soon as I go I will collapse in relief. I haven’t chilled and read a book for months and I’m really craving fresh fish. I can’t wait to spend my days sailing, reading, and fishing. If anyone out there thinks cruising is always sailing in exotic places think again. It’s a hell of a lot of work. My hands are shredded, my back is killing me from hanging over the side in awkward positions lashing the lifeline and netting, and I’m constantly working on the boat. Thank God Namaste isn’t 40, or 50 feet.
Anyway I’m off to a cruiser “boat stuff swap meet”.
Tick tock.
Cheers everyone.
Peace, Love, and Coconuts.
