I put up my new life lines this morning and I feel much more secure on deck. I also got fifty feet of used fish netting for twenty bucks and I am weaving it between the lifeline. I have lost things overboard in the past and this will surly help.
My plan was to leave over the weekend or early in the week but guess what? It is Carnival and all government offices are closed so the whole country can party for the week. I could get an agent to handle my zarpe for a few hundred but I think I will wait it out. I am going back to the French Embassy and change the date on my visa from entering on April 1, to May 1, then I will have all of May, June, and July in French Polynesia.
Today I am buying extra belts for the alternator, oil and fuel filters, oil and stuff like that. I am starting to pack every nook and cranny available with food and supplies.
I spent a bit more then I had hoped too. The shipping of my windlass was a few hundred, then another three fifty for the mounting, mast steps, life line, welding work and so on. I feel really good about the work and I am really happy that it is done.
well the time on my computer is running out here at the cafe. I will post pictures within the next few days.
Cheers everyone.
Peace, Love, and Coconuts.
