Cass, Rick, and I were sitting in the cockpit the other day and saw a rainbow. I said “Cool…look…, the rainbow ends where the whales play”! There is a spot on the other side of a small island where the whales always seem to be breaching. Cass laughed and said “that’s such a bizarre random thing to say”, “what do you mean I asked”? “You just said it so matter of factly…, like oh…, look there is a lot of traffic today”.
I guess I take the beauty and nature out here for granted sometime, it’s become my norm, and I must say, I love it!
At 5:57 this morning Namaste’s hull was struck by a whale. I don’t know if it was an accident or if it was a wake up call, but a large (bigger then the boat) humpback whale struck the hull. It seemed playful like “look guys…, it’s a beautiful morning don’t sleep the day away”!
Not knowing what happened I jumped to attention and was in the cockpit trying to assess damage, “Did we hit another boat, a reef”? The whale almost seemed to be smiling as it glanced back at up at us, blew a big puff of spray, and swam back to where the rainbow ends (where the whales play).
Anyway, that was my morning; I’m going to drink a cup of coffee now.
Cheers everyone!
Peace, Love, and if you ever get the chance, get hit by a whale!
