The funny thing is all the cruising problems are starting not to bother me. Usually when the oil pressure quits or the side-band dies (like this morning), I freak out a bit and think it’s the end of the world. Truthfully, I’m getting to the point that it just all seems normal. I always find a work-around.
I don’t know that I’ll replace the side-band, and I traded my portable receiver a few months back for a storm tri-sail, so no more weather fax. Roger told me after the lightning strike that “even though the SSB came back to life, don’t expect it to work for that long”. I’ll open it later today and take a look, but I don’t know anything about radios.
“Plan B’s” refrigeration went out 2 days ago and Mavis has been cooking large dinners for the anchorage (Don, Roger, and myself) for the past 2 nights. It’s been nice, but a bummer about the fridge.
My motor is still soaking in diesel, I’m going to finish flushing it this morning, fill it with new oil, and replace the filter again.
It’s kind of gray today and a bit cooler which will make for a good “project day”. I’m out of fish so I’ll probably go hunting later (I hate canned food).
Cheers everyone.
Thanks for reading.
