I?m in love!

Ha, fool’d Ya!

I’m in love with my life. Today is my first day being 41, and I love it!

I had a brilliant birthday party on “Contigo” last night. Maggie made a wonderful Trigger-fish dinner, and I had a coconut birthday cake. I also got a nice bottle of rum, and some new books as birthday gifts : ) I took pictures and will upload some as soon as I get some bandwidth. Birthday greetings came in all day on my Sat-phone (Thanks Everyone), and it was just a fantastic day. I’m counting my blessings.

We listened to good music and chatted the night away. I really am in love with my life! I have friends all over the world, I have a righteous little sailboat, health, and freedom. What more could a man ask for? I know…, love of a woman right, perhaps some day? For now, I’m pretty damn happy!

My new little 2hp Yamaha outboard quit. It’s a funny little outboard. The top just doesn’t just pop-off. Ten screws hold it in place and I couldn’t get 2 of the screws out. It’s still under warrantee as it is not even 5 months old. I believe the stainless screws have corroded to the aluminum threading. I’ll bring it to Yamaha when I get back to Panama. I was able to bend the plastic far enough back to empty the bowl (Carburetor), and clean the contacts on the plug, it fired right up! I also had to patch up the dingy as it had a pretty bad leak. I’ll be able to put the dink in the water in the morning and go fishing.

I’m excited for my first charter to visit (22nd). It will be nice to have company on board for a while. I’m not really looking for any more charters until next March. In March I should be in Ecuador, or Peru, and I’ll be looking for one charter to sail from South America with me to the Galapagos (About 2 weeks). If anyone is interested speak up early as I’ll only be taking one person.

Oh yeah, the pelican (Pepe) came back. I was watching a movie night before last, and noticed that my pelican was perched on my hatch to the v-birth. I smiled as I like his company. Then it hit me, he’s pooping in my V-birth, ARRRRRGGGGGG! I went up on deck, picked him up while he was sleeping, and put him in the water. He looked at me like I had 2 heads, “What the hell did you do that for”? I didn’t know how to explain it to him; he obviously thought it was a breech of our friendship as he has not returned. He left a nice memento on my sheets though.

I’m going to head over to Contadora Tuesday or Wednesday and get ready for my guest.

I hope everyone is well.

Peace, Love, and Life!

Alex
