Hate mail!!!! ARRRGGGGGG

Okay, enough with the hate mail, here are some pictures, just kidding  : )

I’ve gotten a lot of emails requesting pictures. It will be easier when I get my new computer, but remember, I can only email pictures when I get to an internet connection. It’s too expensive for me to email pictures through the satellite phone from the boat. I found a bar on the Island that has WIFI, and if I buy beer, I can hook up for free, not a bad deal eah? I’ll take a picture of the bar tonight to let you know what it’s like. Happy hour & dancing is after 21:00 (9pm) when beers are a buck. I emailed some other photos to my buddy David who runs the website. He’ll put them in the photo album soon. We should all thank David (ESPECIALLY ME) as he works hard on the site (for free), while I sit in exotic locations doing whatever it is that I do. I couldn’t maintain this site without the help of David, and my good college buddy Ken who handles everything else for me (Distribution, etc.)

Here are a few images of where I am (Isla Contodora). The sunset was taken from the cockpit last night, and I snapped the picture of Namaste at anchor this morning.

I spent a wonderful evening making sushi (REALLY GOOD) with my friends (Chris & Maggy) on “Contigo” last night. I can’t exactly remember the toast that Chris made when we opened the rum, but it went something like this:

“Some say the best ships are made of wood, and some say the best ships are made of steel. I say…, the best ships, are the friendships made at sea”. I’ll drink to that any day.

Chris & Maggy will be sailing across the Pacific with me next February/March. “Contigo” took off for another anchorage this morning, I’m staying put for the moment. I’m getting back into the slower “Island life” that I love so much. No more stress or heart palpitations. Just good fishing, friends, music, reading and of course writing and taking pictures & video.

Speaking of which, I just saw on ebay today that Sony has come out with a new HDV (High-Definition) video camera (HC3 or something) for around fifteen hundred bucks. I’m really going to try and make that happen. The image is far superior to the mini-dv video that I’m shooting now, and is acceptable as a professional broadcast format. I wand to document my Pacific crossing in Hi-Def!

Well that’s it for tonight.

Peace everyone.

Alex
