Heaving to, Lying ahull, or Running off? This is a question I’ve been trying to answer for a long time. I don’t have any kind of sea anchor for Namaste, and it’s one of the things I have to address on this trip back to the states. I’ve decided to go with a series drogue (www.seriesdrogue.com) and I’ll be making one before I return to Columbia. I believe this is the best tool for fighting heavy seas. Check out their website, and look at the “heavy weather” pictures in the stormy seas section. I hope I don’t see those kind of seas any time soon, but I tell you one thing, I’ll feel allot better having a series drogue, stowed on Namaste, you just never know, right?
