Land and Sea

Nassau

I spent some time at an internet Café in town, and had a slice of pizza and a beer, what a nice break from the canned crap I usually eat from a pot. Good fresh food has to be the biggest drawback so far.

When I can afford it I will add 2, 50 watt solar panels, and a sea water cooled refrigeration unit. It would be nice to enjoy a cool glass of water at my leisure, or perhaps some butter for my bread. I feel as if I’m complaining, Joshua Slocum had no power at all, no GPS, Radar, Depth gauge, computer to watch the occasional movie, or motor for his boat, not to mention an outboard for his dingy for that matter. I live in the lap of luxury compared to some of the men who have attempted to circumnavigate before me.

The Canadians (Chris & Josée) invited me for dinner again. I feasted on Salmon, rice, Chardonnay, and brownies for dessert. Maybe I should have thought this through better and found a woman to accompany me.
Everything seems so civil on their boat; they work as a perfect team and manage to raise two perfect twin boys (Simone & Phillip) at the same time, they just turned six.

The wind still blows hard from the east.
