Mystic Connecticut

I’m in Mystic Connecticut, FREEEEEZING, and iced in. The final stages of Namaste’s refit are currently under way. So far I have rebuilt the bowsprit and rudder. Stepped, rewired, and painted the mast. Replaced all of the thru-hulls and painted the bottom. I’ve also installed new plumbing, interior wiring, new electronics, new running & house lights, bilge pumps, strainer, electric panels, stereo system, dynaplate & lightning protector, VHF antenna, self-leveling radar mount, rebuilt all the winches, and manual pumps. The motor was serviced, and much of the rigging has been replaced. I also had a really nice stern pulpit made as well. I’m really, really, really ready to move on to phase-3. Within the next few weeks I need to install a radar, battery system, battery monitor, isolator, regulator, inverter and alternator. I’m planning on adding solar panels in Florida. I’m waiting for the new mainsail and I’m off.

I have to thank The Brewer Yacht Yard at Mystic for more help then I could possibly ask for. I have been a boat owner for over 10 years, and I must say I have never had service like this, thanks guys.

Johnson Marine Services had been a blessing as well. They helped me rebuild both the bowsprit and rudder.

I’ve been in Mystic for 4 months now, and I have made some true friends. I hope to keep these friends for life, and I know I will miss this place. I haven’t left yet and I’m already looking forward to my return.
