Hi everyone!
Long time no see again. I’m just back from another trip back to Argentina. I love my country, my family, my friends… I love being back on Splendid too, of course. And even though this means that wherever I am there are people and places I miss, it also means that I always love where I am. It’s a strange feeling.
Kuna Yala is just paradise and each island and each reef is so lovely that it’s even hard to move around and get to know the area! Weeks, months go by, and we are still anchored at the very same spot. It’s life in its simplest most beautiful form: fish, birds, the cool breeze, shooting stars, pink sunsets, good friends, tropical fruit, mountains in the distance, lots of time to do the things we love, turquoise waters, huts, canoes and sailboats. Our home is getting cozier too!
Lots of creative work these days: Alex is writing, filming and coming up with new ideas for the webpage; I am recording music, sewing and drawing a lot. We are so excited! It’s like the world is a white canvas and we have no idea where we are going but we are sure it is going to be a wonderful ride. What are you guys up to these days? It’d be nice to hear from you… If you don’t feel like commenting publicly but you want to make contact and share ideas you can reach me at carlasplendid@gmail.com feel free to drop a line anytime.
Have a wonderful day! Do something fun! Surprise the people you love : )

Carla…
Wow! I keep forgetting that you have a journal over here. I’m so sorry. I know the feeling of writing and no one reading. It’s still my way of getting things out of my head and down on cyber paper. My blog is needing an update and you just gave me the inspiration to do so.
I’m really happy for you and Alex. Alex has needed and I think wanted a partner for a long time. He’s a special guy and from the few times we’ve met in person, I have felt we have a kinship in this life of ours on the sea. No, I’m not a minimalist. My wife would kill me if I cut the lines and headed south. I love her and we share life. Some would call it a compromise, but in our hearts and souls, we are just “respecting” each others lives, wishes and dreams. I is wonderful to have that in a life.
I like the idea that you write. I’d like you to do a guest article about your “cruising” life for my blog sometime with a couple of pictures that mean something to you. Give it some thought.
Also, I love drawings. You draw. I wish I could too. So what would be the chance of you doing a simple sketch of Panacea for me? I’d love to see what you could do. I’m looking to update my logo on my site and looking for ideas. I can shoot you a couple of photos to work off of if you want to give it a go. I’d also shoot you a couple of pesos for your time. Just an idea.
Anyway, there’s a couple of other ideas I’m thinking of, but I’ll drop them to you in an email and bounce them off of you.
Be safe out there. Continue to bathe in the light and love of the Universe. I can tell you are special.
Drop me a photo of you and Alex sometime. I want to us it in a blog update soon. Thanks in advance. You can shoot things to: CaptPaul@FantaSeaSailing.com

Hi, Capt. Paul! We really tried to go see you, I wanted to meet you and your wife, but with my dad visiting here as well and Alex reuniting with his, we were crazy busy, going to visit him meant a 2-hour ride each way, we really had no time left. Since he’s coming back in a couple months we didn’t worry much about it though, he’ll definitely hook up with you guys then.
Your life sounds pretty darn good, so… I don’t see much compromising there. Life with a partner means life with a partner, not your own life with a pretty accessory, so of course we all find middle grounds and spaces where we can be together and spaces where we can be by ourselves. The beauty is in the sharing, otherwise we would be single, right? The problem is when you choose the wrong lifestyle for you and feel you’re missing out.
My blog used to be hard to find, you had to go to members and there I was at the bottom of the list of things. But now that it just says “Ship’s log” and then either Alex or Carla many more people are reading and commenting. My last couple blogs got a lot of attention and even tension!! Things got very interesting, if you haven’t seen it, check it out! Especially the one called “The good old bartering system”, really interesting exchanges.
Sure I’d love to draw something for you, I’m a minimalist with my drawing and music as well, I like simple lines and sounds to tell stories, I am not a “sketch” artist, I’m closer to a simple cartoonist, but let’s give it a shot, see if you like it! I doubt it’d be good enough for a logo, but if you love your boat, you’ll like to have a drawing of it, no doubt! Like I said, I don’t do things too detailed or complicated so it won’t take me that much time and I love drawing, no pesos needed!!
I’ll send you an email now. Thanks for your support, of every kind, always!!
Love,
C.
