Chartering again.

nightsea-2Well, we got an opportunity to do a 5 day, 2-couple charter in a few weeks. Which means we are off to the San Blas next week.

Carla’s sister, husband, and 3 kids are also coming to visit us from Patagonia in March. I’m really excited about them coming as they have never experienced something like Caribbean island vacation before and I really want to show them a good time.

So, as usual I’m crazy running around and preparing. I need to fix islas-de-sanblasmy binnacle ASAP, change the oil, racor, and engine mounted fuel filter. Buy gas and diesel, food, propane, paint supplies, add some shaft packing, yadda, yadda, yadda. Not to mention finding a weather window to get out there.

It’s expensive for me to go shopping in Panama City from San Blas ($80 RT) and takes two day so I need to stock up now. It is soooooo worth it though as it is real paradise.

I’m hoping to stir up a few extra charters while we are out there, and if not, I’m looking forward to some relaxing time on the reef shooting fish with Carla.

imagesIf anyone is interested to join us. we only charge $150 PD/PP, food, drinks, and snorkeling gear included. This is the dry season and the high season for visiting San Blas. Plenty of sunshine and warm weather Smile

Well that’s it for today. A short blog with pretty pictures for all on my cold friends back in the states.

Peace, Love, and Coconuts.

  1. Enjoy Kunalandia….got email saying the boat was gone, but they thought I was interested in another boat, so it is still there….have to get my ducks lined up, but it looks like Plan B Redux…..who knows maybe I can drag you through the canal again.

  2. HI Alex,
What are the flying / travel arrangements needed and much does it cost (really rough estimate if you can give one :) ) to fly down and get to you typically?

  3. Mark,
You would fly into panama city (PTY) spend a night in the city ( I’ll help you arrange) and you would get picked up around 5am and take a 2 hour jeep ride through the darrian jungle ($25), and a 20 minute boat ride ($15) to get to Splendid in san blas.

  4. Hey Alex, My husband wants to do a Caribbean sailing vacation this spring. I would MUCH rather charter with you. I’ve heard you serve delicious food as well. I checked into airfares from Minneapolis and they are reasonably priced — about $650 per person. How long are you going to be in the San Blas area? Could we come in late February or early March?

  5. Late Febuary March is Perfect. Carla’s sister is comming for a week in march and I have to check the dates with Carla. Feel free to email me at alexdorsey at my g-mail account to set something up. We do serve nice food, do you like lobster and lobster pizza?,
