Its hard for me to explain my feelings with words this day, but I’ll try.
If a man could love a place, the San Blas are it for me. The sun is a friend, the rain sweet, and the sky bluer then anywhere on earth. All things here make up my “Shangri-la”. When my time comes, I can only pray it happens here. There is a peace that fills my soul here that I’ve never found anywhere else, this is my home, and I’m so happy to be sharing it with Sam.
Sam and I arrived one night last week . There was not a ray of light from the moon or stars. We were floating in space relying on the accuracy of charts and the light shone from a spotlight on deck. We dropped the hook after carefully negotiating reefs and islands, and took a long awaited sleep. We were so very tired!
We have been spending our days spear fishing and snorkeling. I’ve come across many friends that I left here 4 – 5 years ago. It felt so long ago since I’ve been here…, and now it’s just a blink in time. The South Pacific…, Japan…, the states are just memories. It’s so very nice to be back!
Its been a long road getting here and we have had some damage. At the moment my biggest “must fix” is I need to get a new linear drive for the auto pilot. My video editing computer crashed as well as my still camera, ‘electronics on boats’, ARRRGGGG!
Splendid will sail the waters here for a least a year. Sam and i have spoke about crossing the Pacific and I really want to experience the East, but for now this is home and we aren’t making any real plans. We just want to live here quietly, do some charters and raise the munchkin.

Its raining and the sky is booming with thunder, Sam and I just took a shower on deck.
Oh yeah…, we finally got around to installing our Mack Pack, it’s awesome!!!!

Glad you and Sam made it back safely. Hard to believe it’s almost exactly five years since I was your first charter in the San Blas. I know you and your two girls will have a great time there. Like you said, it is a very special place.
