I was chatting with Alex and I mentioned that back in December we decided to sell of 50″ plasma TV which was the focal point of our living room for the past several years. We replaced it with an electric fireplace and bookshelf. The bookshelf contains approx 100 of the best novels ever written as well as an assortment of family friendly board games. I must tell everyone that it has been the best decision I have made in a long time. I may not know who got voted of survivor but I know my wife and daughter better now than ever! I cant tell you what to do, but I can tell you you wont be disappointed in the increase to your quality of life. So tonight maybe decide to unplug the TV for a week and see what effects it has on your life. Read a book, take a walk, join a yoga class, take the boat out for a little sunset cruise or go out for dinner with your wife/husband (not fast food). Start planning your own escape and use all the new found time to be a better friend, parent, son or daughter. You wouldn’t think the effect on your well being would be so profound, but I can tell you it is a game changer and I will never own another. In the words of a man I admire for many reason not just suggesting that I try life without a TV ……PEACE LOVE AND COCONUTS everyone.

I was in the water for hours today and took 4 shots; I can’t hit the broad side of a barn. I got out of practice with the nasal/ear infections. The visibility wasn’t too good either; the sea has been stirred up lately. I did see a big fat ocean trigger (my favorite fish to eat) but he was too slick for me.

If I get rid of my TV, I wont be able to watch your videos anymore. I know you think I have an “agressive nature”, but I really dont, I’m just passionate, I still feel bad that I have given you this impression of me and that I spoke to you in a way that offended you. If you think about it, the internet is FAR more evil than the television. I dont think getting rid of ones TV or computer Etc. is the answer, you have to work on changing what you dont like about it, and accepting the stuff you cant change in a way that will let you live your life happily. (I also have a personal library of over 1000 books, THE ALCHEMIST is my favorite book and Clive Cussler is my favorite author) Your site has become kinda like the howard stearn show, we all log on because we want to see what is going to happen next! If we didn’t enjoy it, we wouldn’t be back.
I bought a new fishing pole today, I think it will bring me much happiness and enjoyment. If I can buy you a fishing pole, let me know. (last I heard, you didn’t have one) I think everybody should have at least one.
I don’t think you are going to find peace where you are now, you seemed to really enjoy the San Blas a few weeks ago. Why don’t you go back? It’s hard for me to understand from where I am currently trapped due to responsibility to raise my young children (I have full custody) and an ex who is only around enough to cause problems in court whenever I make progress towards my cruising dream.
I think it might do your soul good to read The Alchemist again, you just dont seem connected to the soul of the world lately, that is why your sleep is ‘molesto’.

I hear you but PLEASE dont compare me to Howard Stern, if that is really true and that is what my readers think of me I waill turn off the website and never speak another word.
Perhaps my ideas often change because I am a thinker with time to do so. I do not just wake up, go to work, pay my taxes, and watch telivision with my evenings. Dont take my wanting everyone to throw out the TV so literally. My films can be seen on the internet as well, and I never told anyone to throw out thier cvomputers. The internet has united much of the world and promots free speach, I love it.
Wow Howard Stern!!!! I am not sure i can see that Warren. Getting rid of the TV was just one tiny step in the right direction. It was all apart of the 3 years we have spent cleaning up our lives financially emotionally and physically. 3 years ago I couldn’t have fathomed setting sail too may bills, not enough time to get done just the basics of life let along dream or plan to go cruising. But what I decided to do was get back my options. I wanted to be the one who decides if I am going to work today. Not the bank or the government. We got lean and started into this disaster of a financial trap we were caught up in. 3 years later no mortgage, payed off 53,000 consumer debt, sold all the useless possessions that were actually possessing us. This is where the TV came in. But if we take boats out of it for a second. We can now go and do anything in the world that we want, we have choices and options. We have decided to take our daughter and go sailing why because we can. I don’t feel that I need the motivation of running from something I just think of it as we are heading towards something. What we are striving for is choice. The choice to go where we want when we want. To raise our brilliant little daughter with an education where she gets to touch feel and smell all of the things she would have read about in some dingy overcrowded that is freedom. It is my most precious asset. Here is my suggestion for everyone. Stop trying to figure out how to go cruising. Instead figure out how to free yourselves from this consumer trap of student,loans,mortgages,financed cars and furniture that is what has stolen your freedom, to be quite honest we all did it willingly! But throwing out the tv is just the metaphor for stop pissing away your limited resources on trinkets and start putting all your efforts towards creating option and getting back what is the on thing no one seems to sell choice.
It is possible!
I don’t have time for tv. I’m eather working on THE BOAT or reading Blue Sphere.
