Great post… Busy, buys, busy. I just got up here. It’s been a while.

I’m getting Panacea ready for the sailing season up here and varnishing, cleaning, checking clamps, hoses, wires well you know the drill. Put my hand on a hose clamp the other day and it fell off in my hand. It rusted on the back side and looked and felt great up until it just fell off. That’s why my hand is all over those things no more than a month apart.

All is well. Give me best to Carla and I’m excited about your next month trip. You’re going to have a ball. Stay in touch, I’ll do the same.

Ive been looking for a deal on a genset big enough to run my h20 maker. I just got a notification that there is a FP4000 in ft. Lauderdale for $900 like new, somebody should snatch this up, wont last a day.

The 3/4 is big ass chain and plenty, wont rust I the mud either ;)

Horatio. Bigger chain will last longer for sure. My 5/16bbb has been under water on my anchor for over 5 yrars and is still fine. Im sure the 1/2″ will last well over a decade. Im planning on leaving within 6 months so its a no brainer for me, plus I didnt have access to any larger chain. If I had to do it again I would have used 50′ of chain and 30′ of rhode as opposed to 80′ of chain. Im in 37′ of totally protected water (no swell) and just have to deal with wind.

Now, about that 1/2 inch chain attached to the barrels on your mooring, isn’t that a bit thin for the long run? I used 4 inch chain attached to 2 inch and then 1/2 inch for last run that won’t be buried and is replaceable every so often. Now I’m feeling like I really overdid it.
Have a great trip.

I wish both of you the best on your journey together – in life, love and Splendid. If I was religious I’d say I’ll pray for your happiness. As it is, I’m sending all my good vibes your way. You both deserve happiness. Good luck.
