Good to hear from you bro. I use windows live-writer through my 3G internet connection.

I’m in PC at the moment and have been on a scavenger hunt. There is only one place that sells epoxy (not polyester), it was a bear to find and out in an area of PC I don’t really like to be in but I got it. I also managed to find micro balloons and got to the post office. I picked up my new VHF ($80.00 in taxes/shipping), my new little flip camera, a plug cutter set to make bungs, and my hardware to re-rig my main sheet. I also tracked down the pressure regulator and all the plumbing & hoses for the SCUBA/pneumatic system. Still have a lot of running around today, but I’m shooting some paint this week.

If anyone has good tips on shooting paint let me know, I’ve never done it and will be going through the learning curve :)

Cheers.

dregsfan, what do you mean “make the BC pic color”?

Thanks for the info on fillers and my cards. I have found a few apertures with moisture behind the glass on my toe-rail, I’ve had to cut them out and refill/glass them back up, work, work, work. I want to do everything right and there seems to be a lot of debate about easy fairing fillers and water intrusion. Alexseal has a fairing compound I can get here at $100 a gallon and I’m going to bust out another Benjamin, ARRGG!

I spent a few hours helping out my buddy Aaron on his boat, Wow, can a lightning strike take its toll on a sailboat! It makes me rethink how simple I need to keep everything. Not only has he lost his batteries, SSB, Tuner, Vhf’s, sailing electronics, battery monitor, battery charger, and everything else, but you cant trust a stitch of wire on the boat, he really has to start at square one. I have an extra battery selector switch and I’m going to put it on the ground side of my system so I can shut off the ground as well as the positive side of my DC system. I also have a 15′ chain attached to my upper shrowd and p[laced in the water to hopefully keep any possible lightning on the outside of Splendid.

I haven’t had a drop of Alcohol in 4 or 5 days. I’m putting myself into physical & mental training and trying to focus as hard as I can on the task at hand which seems a bit monumental at the moment, but I’m chipping it away. I want out of central & south America next March/April. I love it here and will feel like I’m leaving home again but I really want to be in the sea and get moving.

The vita-mix is making me healthier! I’m milling bean flours to thicken my stews and its really yummy, gives it a creamy texture without the dairy. Why has it taken me nearly 46 years to figure out my body doesn’t like wheat products? Nobody ever said I was the sharpest tool in the shed.

I have found a little time to refinish my guitar. I haven’t played it in years because the machines are shot and I’m trying to find new ones online. I’ve sanded her down and varnished her with marine varnish and she looks AWESOME! She is a vintage Yamaha FG-230 12 string. I’ll post a picture at some point.

Off to P.C. on Monday for a day or two. Hopefully I’ll be spraying paint and filling my new scuba tanks next week :)

Cheers

I looked up a little bit of info on a brand. Do your own research dont just take my word for it because I know very little about boats!
