Here is my 2 pence worth,

When the engine fuel pump has to pull fuel through a dirty filter, it has to ‘work harder’ (bigger vacuum) to get the fuel through. There may be a slight leak at the fuel pump. Then when the pump is working harder some of that pressure is escaping through the pump and over pressurising the oil sump. Check your oil pressure gauge first, or borrow one that goes on the dipstick. It may well be that it is even leaking from the fuel pump gasket, knowing Perkins…

The other possibility is that maybe the higher pressure fuel is then allowing the piston pressure to escape past the rings a little again over pressurising the sump.
