I was going to stay on for another 3 weeks but pulled out today, I just cant do it. All I think about is being back home on Splendid with my girls. I’ll send you guys a real email. Thanks for hooking me up with MSC though, I’m sure I’ll work for them again.

Much Love- Alex

That boat flu is awful, isn’t it? How are Katie and Dave and Roger? Please tell them that Chris and I said hello. We sailed into Cairns yesterday and love this place already. We’ll be here for 6 weeks or more and then hopefully, make our way slowly into Darwin. We hope to stop along the Great Barrier Reef and make some dives. We don’t leave for Indonesia until July 18 so we’ll have plenty of time.
It was hard to leave CONTIGO in Bundaberg without knowing if she sells and we never see her again. I can;t even think about it without tearing up…but the right thing will happen because the Universe is always looking out for us.
Take care and write us a note.
Love you,
Magie and Chris
PS Tell Dave I think you’re a super hard worker and THE choice to stay on board.

PBS has changed my life as will, it is how I reflect and see the world. Thanks guys.

Tammy, yes changing colors, but the enclosure dosent fit so well, nor do the sail covers. I really want the enclosure to keep bugs and rain out. I had maleria years ago, and i tight fit on the canvis is really important to me. I’m going to build a stack pack for the main as you cant really get to it over the bimini, and I need to re-design it so I can mount solar panels on top of it, it will need some hardware. As far as Fort Myers, yes I met my girl there and that was a life changing expierance. It’s just time for me/us to move on.

Cheers

We all have to make a little money. Alaska is indescribably beautiful. Please keep us posted when/if you will be offering an opportunity to sail a leg with you. Just went on a “walk-about” and went by Blue WaterBay Marina in Niceville FL. They trashed the tiki hut but know have a nice bar on other side of marina, Went to a wooden boat show in Apalatchacola. Cruising on west coast of FL has alot to offer. The site is still good and I am always looking for your post. -Mojo

I first came across your videos about a year ago, (I misspelled part of my search, ‘west sale’ and instead typed in ‘westsail’ on youtube,) and it got me motivated to learn about sailing and maybe buy a boat. Now it looks like I will sell my house and buy a boat instead, hopefully by next season. I’ve already got rid of one car and am remodeling the house to put it up on the market.

Anyway, before I decided to do this my life was miserable. Similar story to yours; insane girlfriends, 70 hour work weeks, etc… Nothing was fun, nothing was good. I had all the latest toys, a new car, but it didn’t make me happy. Thankfully I’ve managed to make adjustments and cut out a lot of the insanity. Even my friends are noticing the difference.

I don’t think I’m brave enough to circumnavigate just yet, but at least I’ve found a better way to live my life–and that’s thanks to you and all of the work you’ve put in over the past few years. So yeah, you’re making a difference in peoples lives. BIG ONES!

Rock on man…

The screens I bought when I purchased Splendid and the plastic is ? old. The main cover is also with only a year of sun exposure. Are you changing color?

And no more digs to Fort Myers. If you hadn’t been there you wouldn’t have met your family, so you were in the right place at the right time and the universe provided! Fort Myers should be viewed as a sacred place for you.

He also see’s a man with a mission, just like himself. His is just on a larger skill. Alex you do have people that care all around the world. You’ve touched lives in ways that words can’t describe. They say for every action is a reaction, and your is waiting in Fl. I read your words and their seem to be coming from the heart and not the head. What a life changing event, HA Alex, with a family, the man that did everything in his past alone, go figure. Well is why your heart tugs at you, Yes, there is bigger plans for you than you could ever thought of, I believe your life has you knew changed when you stepped on the ship. When humans are removed from their everyday lives and placed into a changed life, even if it’s for a short time, we start looking at what values to us, I feel this is when life begins. This trip has all ready done more for you than money, it’s shown you value. You’ve typed logs for years and now we see a changed man. Your not only talking about Splendid, and parts or places to go, but a new found life. I remember when you said in your log, “WHy am I buying a sail boat that needs so much work, when I just finished one? Now you know why you had to go to Fl. and buy Splendid. To find your family and your place in life. Now go get some work done, get some rest when you can and enjoy Alaska has much as you can. Thanks for sharing your feelings as well as your dreams.

What BlueSphere means to people. I for one have enjoyed your logs so much. While I do sail I can’t go more than a few days north or south no time too plugged in so your logs bring me to places I can only dream about. Your logs/writing slows me down it’s a brake from the fast life a nice brake. I wish there were more good people like you in the world. It’s funny I drive to work in my Jeep at 55/65mph (slow lane) down the freeway and watch all these people driveing 80, 90mph just to get to work cutting each other off getting in accidents. You have the right idea you have it made.
Anyway get done with your work and get sailing.
Tim.
