DSC_0046What a great week it is turning out to be. Buddy and Gina made it here from the states fore a week and are having a blast. I picked them up in Carti after they had an adventurous Jeep ride through the mountains from Panama city.

After visiting a small store we took off for Chichime and ran into my good friends Jamie & Lisa on Wild Goose. I was excited to hear they are going to have a baby and were getting married by the Kuna the following day. Sam made a wonderful DSC_0062wedding cake for them and the Kuna threw us a shindig. They smoked a large grouper and cooked 30 or so lobsters with rice. The ceremony was quick and involved the women bathing (splashing sea water on the bride) and the same for the groom. They laid in a hammock together while a few DSC_0073words were said, and badabing, they were married Kuna style. The whole wedding cost under $100 including Lisa’s Kuna wedding dress, beer, fish, and lobsters. The boats chipped in $20 bucks each to cover their expenses. as a wedding gift. Sam and I gave them some extra solar panes we had.

Buddy, Gina, Sam and I will be cruising around the area for the next week and after that Sam and I will head off for Isla Linton and Sam will fly back to the states to visit family and bring our little munchkin back. DSC_0047

Life has really slowed down in the past few months. It’s good to be in the water shooting fish and living simple again. Sorry for the lack of updates the last week but I didn't have any access to internet. The pictures are complements of Buddy, I’ll get another camera soon.

Cheers from the beaches of the San Blas.

Life is good.

Re: Sailing Panama

Yo Alex & Sam:

Looks as though life is treating you two right. Happy, healthy and living well. Good for you. Keep it up and photos were a nice touch. Welcome home.

All well here in FMB. I'm on my summer treks around the country entertaining the masses and then back to Panacea. She's treating me right and keeping us dry, well except for a few leaks here and there, but I've never had a completely dry boat, so I always have extra towels.

I'll be checking in off and on, so keep on continuing on. Thanks for sharing your life with us all. The best to all of yo down there.

Re: Sailing Panama

Alex,

I am glad to see that you are doing so well. Let me know if you are ever in the Phila/NY area and we can catch up for a beer.

So after you helped me move "Our Time" up to NYC I have unfortunately not been able to get my engine issues fixed. At this point I also do not have the time or money to have them professionally fixed. So I am going to have to let go of the boat.

I thought that I would let you know in the event that you knew someone looking for a project boat that they could pick up cheap, since you also know many of the pros and cons of this particular boat.

Anyway, keep the updates coming we love to read of your adventures. Keep in touch I hope to see you again soon.
