This is what my sunrise looked like this morning.

Believe it or not I managed to find just enough of a WIFI signal to squeak out a log this morning. The Ubiquity Bullet was a really good choice for me and I’m quite happy with it.

We found friends from Nassau at Norman’s and spent some time with them on the beach yesterday. Actually we walked around the little island in the picture and found hundreds of baby conch. We were invited to their boat for dinner and had a lovely evening.

Today really feels like my first day home (back in the sea). There are just a few boats in this pristine anchorage, and starfish can easily bee seen on the bottom of the 12’ deep turquoise water beneath our floating home.

Today we are going to go searching for a sunken airplane and find Conch for a big salad tonight. It’s a bit cool in the wind for swimming but our ventures south will surely remedy or desire to be warm. Guinevere swam for about 10 minutes yesterday but got cold. Today I’ll make sure she wears her wetsuit. I got her a wetsuit a few months back and she has just grown into it, Perfect timing.

I can almost feel a fish dangling from the end of me spear :)

Sail far and live slowly.

Alex

Re: Sailing, Norman’s Cay, Bahamas

Ha, went spear fishing today. Didn't shoot a fish but got a few conch and made a nice salad 4 lunch. We also had some sargaso seaweed miso. Ken Neumeyer's book "Sailing the farm" suggested sargaso soup, not bad. Sailing the farm is a really cool book about homesteading on the sea, right up out alley. It is a hard book to find though.

Cheers.

Happy sunday.

To reach the port of heaven we must sail, sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it.. But we must sai,and not drift or lie at anchor

Hey Alex, way cool dude. How are the conditions, wind? I love the idea of spearfishing to provide the real good stuff. If you get a chance, maybe you could post a blog of how you first got into it. What mistakes to avoid. Well, keep safe and say hello to the fam. Peace
