Click to view full size imageJust one more day. Sam and I will be leaving Tuesday morning. We've had a garage sale for the last 3 days and have been tying up all our loose ends, we'll Sam's loose ends (house, car, etc). I don't know that I've had a loose end for quite some time :) It looks like July 7th 2009 will be Sam's big date. Speaking of dates I'm cringing at the fact I'm turning 44 on July 14th. Why oh why do the birthdays keep coming. Actually I think I'm doing all right! I'm really happy I'll be cruising again on my birthday, and I feel like a hell of a lucky guy!

All I need to do on my end is change a racor filter and go to the dock for a pump-out and a water fill. Sam and I need to take a few hours to do some stowing. We are bringing a bunch of stuff from the house to sell on eBay. Mostly vintage dresses. Monies tight so we will be living as lean as possible. I'll be looking for some work up in the Chesapeake, I'd like to make a few bucks before we take off South in November.

Kerri is going to install the last of the dodger & sides tomorrow. It looks like we will be nice and dry for all the squalls, YEHAAAAA!

Want to hear something totally AWESOME? We haven't run a generator or the engine for a week. We are totally living off of solar power. It's such a good feeling having such a soft carbon footprint in the world. Sam's tickled. If I can just start sailing everywhere and rowing the dinghy we wont be using any fuel at all. We wont have a car anymore and will be riding our bikes from now on. I'd actually like to get a pair of blades, Sam has some. We are also looking for a 2 person Kayak.

The weather looks good. I think we'll have SW wind until I make the u-turn around the keys. After that I think we'll be getting some good sailing done.

Peace, Love, and lots more Love.

Sail far and live slowly.

Re: Happy 4th. "FREEDOM"

Alex, I been sailing every weekend since Mid April on Cayuga Lake. We're taking the Catalina 25 through the canals to Oswego NY, then heading for Kingston Ontario in 3 weeks. The most awesome thing is that my wife just sold our patio table for 50.00 and told me to put the money into the "Big Boat" fund! We truly are both leaving Binghamton June 2012 and you have been a part of our inspiration. It is such a great feeling to know she is as committed as I am. Peace brother.
