Oh man, that was great!! 30 days on vacation & on board the whole time. Staying in different anchorages and marinas for no more that 2 nights at the same place. Sleeping in, and like a baby at anchor, with my super ground tackle investment. The boat worked perfectly, the only thing I did was get 2 new house batteries after the 4th. day, just so we could anchor without worries. Great hot weather for the last 3 weeks too.
After a few years of family matters in the forfront (no sailing for 2yrs.), Chrissy and I got the time together we needed to be sure of our 24 yr. marriage, ROCK SOLID!
Funny thing, after a couple weeks we rented a movie for the laptop, one we had never seen, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, what a crazy feeling we had the next morning, WE BOTH ACTUALLY FELT HALF OUR AGE!!
So the next two weeks I think we acted half our age too, and tried to drink like we used to too :( ouch!
Trust me it wasn't easy to set aside a month from everything and everyone but, man was it worth it!!
Not feeling so old at 50 today, I hope it holds till the next real vacation. Life is short, take some time, live awhile!
Well back to the overgrown garden ( yeah a month of weeds) prepping to pack the freezer for the winter.
